Mother Theresa Sculpture- Mold Making Process

Mother Theresa Sculpture, Mold Process (Side View)
Mother Theresa Sculpture, Mold Process (Frontal View)

Here are the Pictures of the Mold making Process of the Mother Theresa Sculpture. All together to create the mold took about 5 days. I learned how to properly measure silicone by weight, and how apply it onto the clay figure correctly in order to create a sturdy "tearless" mold. I also further learned the use of shim walls, which separates the mold into multiple pieces in order to cast, hence the flat pieces bordering the sections of the figure. The rubber mold is then covered with a plaster "mother mold", in order to support the rubber while casting in wax.

Here are the pieces when removed from the clay. The pink is the rubber mold I helped to make, and the white bordering the pink is the plaster mother mold. These are the pieces that will be painted in wax and then sent to the foundry to be poured into bronze.
